PFC Services - Pipeline Testing
Pipeline Testing
Low Pressure Air Testing
- Post installation and assumption testing for underground pipelines
- Identify problem joints or defective pipe from 150mm to 450mm diameter
Mandrel Testing
- Initial and assumption testing for underground pipelines
- Verify the quality of installation for 150mm to 450mm diameter pipelines
Re-Rounding
- To correct deflection in pipelines from 200mm to 450mm diameter that are out of round
- Process involves the insertion of expansion device into a pipe with oval defects to return it to a circular cross section
- Increases pipeline capacity
Joint Testing
- Newly installed pipe sections are joint tested to prove construction integrity; post installation
- Identify sewer pipe joints that are defective and can be successfully sealed by the internal pipe joints sealing process
Smoke Testing
- Inflow is leading cause of collection system overflows
- Identifies the location of exfiltration
- Identifies direct connections between sources of inflow and sanitary/storm sewer cross connections
Dye Testing
- Identifies specific inflow points; pipe sections that displayed potential inflow sources during smoke testing are evaluated with dye
- Dye is introduced into the identified pipe sections, while the flows downstream of the dyed source are CCTV inspected to determine the path of flow
- Main use of procedure is to locate lateral cross sections
